Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs)

Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs) are non-profit organizations which help rural Atlantic Canadian entrepreneurs succeed by providing flexible financing, business counselling and training programs.

In rural Nova Scotia there are 13 corporations, each dedicated to the development of small business and job creation in their communities. To find your local CBDC  visit cbdc.ca

Local people know where the ice is thin. The CBDCs in Nova Scotia are governed by independent volunteer boards. With over 145 volunteers, these local community and business leaders provide expertise and local knowledge to make prudent investment decisions.

In addition to business loans, CBDCs offer a variety of services to entrepreneurs through programs like:
•             Self Employment Benefits Program
•             Consulting Advisory Services Program
•             Entrepreneurial Training Fund
